From the 11th November we are making changes to how you book a routine and urgent appointment with the GP so that all requests for appointments are triaged by a GP. This is so that we can improve access to routine appointments and also ensure equity to all our patients when accessing an appointment so that patients are seen at the right time and by the most appropriate health care professional.
From the 11th November we ask that all patients needing a GP appointment complete an online form (accessible via our website or by scanning the QR code at the surgery). If you are unable to use your mobile telephone or computer to do this then please telephone the surgery to speak to a receptionist and they will be able to assist you.
The new system means that every request for a GP appointment (urgent or routine) will be reviewed and triaged by a GP and you will be offered an appointment with the most appropriate health care professional. There are many GP practices locally and nationally who have moved to a 'total triage' system and have seem improvements in their appointment availability and patient satisfaction.
Please bear with us over the next few weeks whilst we move to our new appointment system.
